On February 12, the production team held a wrap party in Seoul attended by cast members and panelists, including broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung. At the event, Hong Jin-kyung bowed her head and formally apologized to Choi Mina Sue in front of attendees. The two later posed for photos together, appearing friendly and at ease.

In Episode 8, Choi Mina Sue repeatedly hesitated between male contestants and struggled to make a clear romantic choice. The panelists engaged in heated commentary on air. Hong Jin-kyung openly criticized her, saying, “I can’t defend you…Please stop.” Other panelists, including Kyuhyun, Hanhae, Lee Da-hee, and Dex, later admitted they may have gone too far in their remarks.

Due to the tense atmosphere and strong language, Netflix producers reportedly intervened and reminded the panelists to be mindful of their tone, noting the immense pressure contestants face from public scrutiny.

After the season ended, some viewers labeled Choi Mina Sue as the “villain” of Season 5. However, many others argued that a reality show edit does not necessarily reflect someone’s true personality.
Support also came from Jasmin Selberg, who defended Choi Mina Sue and emphasized that participants in entertainment programs are often portrayed in specific roles to heighten drama. She urged the public to stop personal attacks and cyberbullying. Despite the controversy, Choi Mina Sue emerged as one of the most talked-about contestants of Season 5 and played a significant role in the show’s global popularity.
