On December 22, Jennie’s agency OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) revealed behind-the-scenes details of her MMA 2025 stage, which took place on December 20 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Jennie swept three awards that night, including the prestigious Record of the Year, while delivering a solo performance that filled the venue with a powerful narrative rooted in Korean beauty.
Her stage unfolded as a three-part story through “Seoul City,” “ZEN,” and “like JENNIE,” each representing a journey from the external world to the inner self, and ultimately arriving at a fully realized identity.
Jennie opened with “Seoul City,” appearing beneath a massive veil dominated by the blue of the Korean flag. The imagery symbolized comfort and familiarity found amid the noise and lights of the city. The performance then transitioned into “ZEN,” expressing inner balance and concentration beyond urban chaos. The finale, “like JENNIE,” portrayed the arrival at her authentic self, solidifying her artistic identity.

A major highlight was her stage wardrobe, designed by Korean brand LEJE, which previously collaborated with Jennie on the “ZEN” music video. The outfits reinterpreted traditional Korean elements through a modern lens.
For “Seoul City,” the enormous veil featured text from Cheonggu Yeongeon, Korea’s first known anthology of song lyrics. Jennie and her dancers wore outfits inspired by traditional jeogori silhouettes, evoking strength and elegance. According to LEJE, the structured shoulder lines drew inspiration from the Half-Seated Bodhisattva, complemented by handcrafted norigae knots that conveyed quiet yet resolute beauty.
In “like JENNIE,” the costume fused traditional dongjeong and goreum details with a Western corset structure, creating tension and dimensionality in the silhouette. The pants incorporated ink-drawing techniques depicting traditional crafts such as norigae and silver knives, while raw silk daenggi knots added volume and symbolism.

The dress Jennie wore while accepting Record of the Year was inspired by the balanced proportions of the Bulguksa Seokgatap Pagoda. Hand-draped cutout details formed a refined yet dynamic silhouette, embodying restrained elegance. The dancers’ outfits, reminiscent of guardian Inwang figures, modernized traditional sapok pants, jeogori, and haengjeon to create a protective visual presence around Jennie.
OA Entertainment noted, “Through this stage infused with Korean elements, Jennie once again expressed her love and pride for Korea.”
Jennie’s impact in 2025 extends far beyond MMA. Her first full-length solo album Ruby achieved strong domestic and global chart performance while earning critical acclaim for its artistic completeness. She also appeared on major international stages, including the 2025 Met Gala and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, reinforcing her status as a global icon who bridges Korean heritage and contemporary pop culture.
