Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung made a shocking revelation during her ongoing legal battle with former manager Yu Yuk Hing, disclosing a rare psychological condition that deeply affects her daily life and decision-making abilities.

Cheung is currently facing a lawsuit from Yu, who accuses her of breaching a contract and owing nearly HKD 13 million in unpaid debts. He claims the actress took advance payments for unfulfilled projects and has shown ingratitude despite his long-term support. In response, Cecilia Cheung denied owing money and questioned Yu’s credibility, bringing up his past financial scandals and failed business ventures.

While the court has yet to determine the outcome of the case, Cheung’s candid testimony about her mental health has captured public attention. She revealed that she suffers from a condition that makes her irrationally fearful of numbers. “I’m fine counting from 1 to 7, but once I get to 8, I start to panic,” she confessed. She even relies on counting her fingers to calculate how many years she has worked in the entertainment industry.

Cheung also admitted that she cannot remember her own phone number. The only contact she remembers is her current manager Zhou Jing Yi, whom she has worked with for many years and considers family. According to Cheung, Zhou manages nearly every aspect of her life from paying utility bills to handling her bank account passwords.

The actress shared that she is completely reliant on Zhou not only in her personal life but also in her professional decisions. Any offers from the entertainment industry are first screened by Zhou, who evaluates their suitability before presenting them to Cheung for final approval. “We’re so alike in temperament that I rarely need to do anything I don’t want to,” she said, expressing deep gratitude and trust in her manager.

Despite Zhou Jing Yi’s limited familiarity with the inner workings of mainland China’s showbiz scene, Cheung continues to entrust her fully, a testament to their strong bond.
