Introduction

Kim Taeyeon is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer, and voice actress under SM Entertainment. She is best known as the oldest, the leader, and the main vocalist of the girl group Girls’ Generation which debuted in 2007.

Taeyeon had been a trainee at SM Entertainment’s Starlight Academy during her middle school years before debuting as a member of the agency’s girl group Girls’ Generation in 2007. Since then, she has risen to prominence as SNSD has become one of the most acclaimed acts in South Korea. She has also participated in other SM’s projects, including Girls’ Generation-TTS alongside with members Taeyeon and Seohyun, SM the Ballad, Girls’ Generation-Oh! GG, and Got the Beat.

Throughout her tenure with Girl’s Generation, Taeyeon played a pivotal role in their immense success, establishing the group as one of the most celebrated acts in K-pop’s 2nd-generation and amassing a devoted global fanbase. She is renowned for her exceptional vocal abilities, commanding stage presence, and versatility as an artist.

In addition to her work with Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon has participated in various projects within the SM Entertainment ecosystem. Notably, she contributed to the sub-unit Girls’ Generation-TTS, captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and dynamic performances. In late 2014, Taeyeon embarked on her solo endeavors after eight-years with Girls’ Generation. Her solo debut arrived in October 2015 with the highly anticipated mini-album, “I.”

In 2022, Taeyeon achieved a significant milestone with her hit song “INVU,” securing her first-ever perfect all-kill. on multiple music charts underscoring her growth and continued dominance even as a solo artist.
