Netflix’s flagship dating entertainment show, Solo Hell, returns for season 5.
Netflix said on Sunday that “Solo Hell 5” will be released globally on Jan. 20, 2026. “Solo Hell” is the first Korean entertainment show to release its fifth season.
Solo Hell is a hot dating reality show that takes place on a remote island called Hell Island, where you can only go out as a couple. Since season 1 entered the Netflix Global Top 10 TV Non-English category for the first time in Korean entertainment, all seasons have been in the top ranks of the same category. Season 2 was loved by 31 countries, ranking in the Global Top 10 for four consecutive weeks and season 3 for five consecutive weeks.
In particular, Season 4 proved its position as an absolute powerhouse in dating reality once again, recording the highest viewing time among the first parking scores. The program, which has been enjoying a syndrome-class popularity by heating up viewers around the world every season, is challenging for its fifth consecutive box office hit.
The teaser trailer, which has been released this time, foretells the relentless battle for love between the starry soloists gathered on the strange island. “I’ve decided, let’s get drunk 4 times a year, it could be today” is a sweet fluttering.
Then, a straightforward comment without a filter appears, “Is there anyone who wears double-legged clothes?” and “Why me? I just went there once.” It implies a thrilling heaven and a more powerful and heated hell.
The intense presence of the attention-grabbing soloists with just a short teaser video vertically elevates dopamine. The dramatic relationship narrative that the performers who are honest with their emotions will complete is expected to be the biggest point to watch this season. The high-stimulus emotion trigger device, which was created by dating entertainment masters who changed their skills to know who they are, is also gaining high expectations.
Producer Kim Jae-won, who has led the success of Solo Hell for five seasons, said, “I think I can only say that I’m impressed,” adding, “I think I was able to come this far because of all the solos who have been with me since season 1 and the fans who supported them.”
Regarding the characteristics of season 5, PD Kim Jae-won said, “Season 5 is a season that focuses on excitement as an authentic dating program,” adding, “You will be able to meet a much wider variety of love lines and intense characters.”
The unadulterated talking and chemistry of MC Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Da-hee, Kyu-hyun, Han Hae, and Dex, who are the identities of Solo Hell, are also the main pillars of popularity.
However, there are also voices of concern. Season 4 drew negative attention as a large number of idol trainees, new actors and models appeared, which could turn into a celebrity debut course. Similar concerns have been raised as articles on participants in Season 5 were reported even before the program was released.
Attention is focusing on whether Season 5 will be able to listen to viewers’ stories and come back with a more advanced appearance.
Solo Hell 5 will be released worldwide on Netflix on Tuesday, January 20 next year.
