Actors Lee Min Ho and Moon Ga Young are teaming up for the first time in the upcoming historical romance drama Scent of the Night , directed by the renowned Lee Eung Bok , known for hits like Descendants of the Sun , Guardian: The Lonely and Great God , Mr. Sunshine , and Sweet Home .

According to industry sources on December 8, both actors will star in the webtoon-based drama, which explores the forbidden love between two people torn between fate and desire in Joseon Dynasty Korea . The story follows Seo Hong , a fiercely independent woman who defies the oppressive social norms of her time, and Seo Jae Ha , a man who loves her but is forced to suppress his emotions while conforming to societal expectations.

Lee Min Ho will portray Seo Jae Ha , the son of a butcher whose life collapses after his father’s death. He later assumes a new identity as the son of the wealthiest man in Hanyang, Seo Dong Won. Despite being raised as a sibling to Seo Hong, Jae Ha harbors complex, conflicted emotions toward her—a role that promises emotional depth and intensity from the actor.

Moon Ga Young plays Seo Hong , the only daughter of Hanyang’s richest family. Intelligent and assertive, Seo Hong challenges the traditional roles assigned to women and successfully builds her own trading guild in the city’s bustling markets. Her character is expected to captivate audiences with her blend of strategic mind and bold spirit.

Lee Min Ho rose to fame with his breakout role in Boys Over Flowers after debuting in the 2006 drama Secret Campus . He has since solidified his status as a top Hallyu star through hits like City Hunter , The Heirs , The Legend of the Blue Sea , The King: Eternal Monarch , and Pachinko .

Moon Ga Young, who also debuted in 2006 as a child actress in the film Bloody Reunion , transitioned successfully into adult roles. She is also set to star alongside Koo Kyo Hwan in the upcoming film Once We Were Us , scheduled to premiere on December 31.
